## 1. Define the audit

| Item | Entry |
|---|---|
| Store | |
| Product family or collection | |
| Markets included | |
| Audit owner | |
| Product or compliance reviewer | |
| Start date | |
| Target release date | |
| AI surfaces being tested | On-site store agent / Shopify agentic storefronts / Other: |

## 2. Select a risk-based sample

Include at least one product from each applicable group.

- [ ] High-view or high-revenue product
- [ ] High-return or high-support product
- [ ] Product with many variants
- [ ] Product with compatibility requirements
- [ ] Product with market or language differences
- [ ] Product with subscriptions, regulated claims, or expensive failure consequences
- [ ] Long-tail product that uses a different catalog structure

| Product | Why it is in the sample | Variants included | Markets included | Owner |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | |
| | | | | |
| | | | | |

## 3. Define source precedence

Record which source controls the answer when two sources disagree.

| Fact type | Authoritative source | Secondary presentation surfaces | Owner | Review trigger |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Product identity | | | | |
| Variant dimensions or fit | | | | |
| Materials or ingredients | | | | |
| Compatibility | | | | |
| Price and promotion | | | | |
| Availability | | | | |
| Market eligibility | | | | |
| Shipping | | | | |
| Returns and warranty | | | | |

## 4. Audit decision-critical fields

Duplicate rows as needed. `Scope` should identify product, variant, market, policy, or another precise boundary.

| Product or handle | Field or fact | Shopper decision supported | Current value | Authoritative source | Scope | Owner | Freshness rule | Conflict or gap | Required fix | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | Title | Identify the item | | | Product | | | | | Not started |
| | Description | Understand intended use and limits | | | Product | | | | | Not started |
| | Images and alt text | Verify appearance, scale, or details | | | Product/variant | | | | | Not started |
| | Type, category, collections, tags | Find and compare the item | | | Product | | | | | Not started |
| | Barcode or GTIN | Identify the item consistently | | | Product/variant | | | | | Not started |
| | Option name and value | Choose the correct version | | | Variant | | | | | Not started |
| | Variant image | Confirm the selected option | | | Variant | | | | | Not started |
| | Dimensions or fit | Confirm suitability | | | Product/variant | | | | | Not started |
| | Material or ingredients | Satisfy a constraint | | | Product/variant | | | | | Not started |
| | Compatibility | Avoid an invalid purchase | | | Product/variant | | | | | Not started |
| | Care or setup | Understand ownership requirements | | | Product | | | | | Not started |
| | Price | Stay within budget | | | Variant/market | | | | | Not started |
| | Availability | Confirm that the option can be bought | | | Variant/market | | | | | Not started |
| | Shipping policy | Understand destination and timing limits | | | Market/policy | | | | | Not started |
| | Returns or warranty | Understand purchase risk | | | Market/policy | | | | | Not started |

## 5. Check variants and markets

### Variant checks

- [ ] Option names have one meaning across the product family.
- [ ] Equivalent values use consistent spelling and units.
- [ ] Decision-critical facts live at the level where they are true.
- [ ] Variant links, prices, availability, and media resolve to the same option.
- [ ] “Not offered” is distinguishable from “temporarily unavailable.”

### Market checks

- [ ] Product and variant are published in the applicable market.
- [ ] Price and currency match that market.
- [ ] Shipping method and restrictions match the destination.
- [ ] Return, warranty, and disclosure differences are explicit.
- [ ] Translations reflect the current controlling source.
- [ ] Shopify Catalog Mapping is reviewed when custom fields or grouping logic are used.

## 6. Build the question test set

Include correct matches, invalid combinations, follow-ups, and questions that should not receive a definitive answer.

| Test ID | Shopper question | Product, variant, and market context | Evidence required | Expected answer or boundary | Actual result | Pass? | Source fix or configuration fix |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| C-01 | | | | | | | |
| C-02 | | | | | | | |
| C-03 | | | | | | | |
| C-04 | | | | | | | |
| C-05 | | | | | | | |

## 7. Release decision

- [ ] Every decisive claim has one current source.
- [ ] Product, variant, and market scope is explicit.
- [ ] Contradictory units, names, prices, and policies are resolved.
- [ ] Dynamic answers use current evidence or an approved boundary.
- [ ] Clarifying questions appear when missing context changes the answer.
- [ ] Invalid combinations and unsupported requests have been tested.
- [ ] A person owns correction and retesting after launch.

| Decision | Owner | Date | Evidence or unresolved risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Release / Release with conditions / Hold | | | |
